Rayon Sports has now completed one week of pre-season training<\/strong> in preparation for the 2026\/2027 football season<\/strong>. The team is currently holding its training camp in Gicumbi District<\/strong> at the newly completed stadium.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rayon Sports head coach Francis Haringingo<\/strong> began training with a squad of 23 players<\/strong>, including five youngsters promoted from the club’s youth academy, established Rwandan players, and foreign players who had already arrived in Rwanda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the training sessions, two Rayon Sports defenders, Emmanuel Nshimiyimana<\/strong> and Obedi Uwumukiza<\/strong>, sustained minor injuries. The club stated that the injuries are not serious<\/strong>, but they prevented the two players from featuring in a friendly match between the senior team and the club’s Under-20 side.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The friendly match was played on Sunday, July 5, 2026<\/strong>. Didier Nshuti<\/strong>, who recently joined the club from Gorilla FC<\/strong>, started at right-back. The senior team defeated the Under-20 team 7-1<\/strong>. Several new signings were involved, including foreign defenders led by Charles Tchouplaou<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Monday<\/strong>, Rayon Sports also welcomed additional foreign signings to training, including Ibrahim Djingarey<\/strong>, Boris Gbenou<\/strong>, and Issa Djiguiba<\/strong>. Other expected arrivals on Tuesday<\/strong> include Tony Kitoga<\/strong>, Ndikumana Asmane<\/strong>, and Atisso Kodjo<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The club is preparing for the 2026 CECAFA tournament<\/strong>, which will begin on July 24, 2026<\/strong>, in Rwanda. Rayon Sports is also preparing for Rayon Day<\/strong>, scheduled for July 18, 2026<\/strong>, at Amahoro Stadium<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
