Rwanda\u2019s representatives in the 2026\/27 CAF Interclub competitions have discovered their opponents following the official draw, with both APR FC and Rayon Sports facing demanding preliminary-round fixtures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

APR FC, Rwanda\u2019s champions, have been drawn against Democratic Republic of Congo side Aigle du Congo<\/strong> in the preliminary round of the CAF Champions League. The first leg will be played away in DR Congo before the return fixture in Kigali.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Should APR FC progress to the second preliminary round, they will face Egyptian giants Zamalek<\/strong>, one of Africa\u2019s most successful clubs. The potential clash would represent one of APR FC\u2019s biggest continental tests in recent years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Elsewhere in the CAF Champions League draw, Sudan\u2019s Al Hilal<\/strong> will take on Burundi\u2019s Aigle Noir<\/strong> for a place in the next round.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the CAF Confederation Cup, Rayon Sports have been paired with Panth\u00e8re Sportive<\/strong> of Cameroon in the preliminary round. The first leg is scheduled to be played in Cameroon between 4 and 6 September 2026<\/strong>, while the return leg will be hosted in Kigali between 11 and 13 September 2026<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rayon Sports will be aiming to secure a positive away result before relying on home support in Kigali to book their place in the next stage of Africa\u2019s second-tier club competition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The draws set up an exciting continental campaign for Rwanda\u2019s two biggest clubs, with APR FC chasing a place in the CAF Champions League group stage and Rayon Sports targeting a deep run in the CAF Confederation Cup.<\/p>\n
