Rayon Sports Hold Panthère du Ndé to 1–1 in CAF Confederation Cup First Leg

CAMEROON — Rayon Sports secured a valuable 1–1 draw away to Panthère du Ndé in the first leg of their CAF Confederation Cup preliminary-round tie on Friday.
The Rwandan side showed strong character throughout the encounter, putting in an impressive performance despite playing away from home.
Panthère du Ndé opened the scoring through Beo Batto, giving the Cameroonian side the advantage.
Rayon Sports, however, responded with determination and found the equaliser through Junior Kameni, ensuring the two teams finished level at 1–1.
The result gives Rayon Sports an important advantage heading into the decisive second leg in Kigali.
The Blues and Whites will welcome Panthère du Ndé at Amahoro Stadium on September 6, with a place in the next round of the CAF Confederation Cup at stake.
Rayon Sports head coach Haringingo will be pleased with his team’s performance, although the Rwandan side will feel they deserved more after creating opportunities and competing strongly throughout the match.
