Rwanda U23 Continue Night-by-Night Winning Run With 3–0 Victory Over Sudan

Rwanda U23 made a strong start to their 2027 Africa Cup of Nations U23 qualifying campaign after defeating Sudan U23 3–0 in the first leg.

The Amavubi U23 produced a dominant performance, scoring three goals to put themselves in a strong position ahead of the return leg in Juba, South Sudan, next week.

Niyigena Gives Rwanda Early Lead

Rwanda started the match with confidence and took the lead in the 10th minute through Abdul Niyigena.

The early goal gave the hosts momentum as they continued to put pressure on the Sudanese defence.

Rwanda went into the break with a 1–0 advantage.

Shingiro Doubles the Lead

The second half began perfectly for Rwanda as Honore Shingiro found the back of the net in the 47th minute, extending the Amavubi U23’s lead to 2–0.

Sudan struggled to respond as Rwanda continued to control the match and create opportunities.

Sindi Completes the Victory

Rwanda eventually added a third goal in the 78th minute, with Jesus Sindi completing the scoring.

The 3–0 victory gives Rwanda a significant advantage going into the second leg.

Return Leg in Juba

The two teams will meet again next week in Juba, South Sudan, for the return leg.

Rwanda will aim to protect their three-goal advantage and complete their progress in the AFCON U23 2027 qualifying campaign.
