Rayon Sports Make History With 20 New Signings

KIGALI, Rwanda — Rayon Sports have embarked on one of the most aggressive squad rebuilds in Rwandan football this summer, with the club bringing in a reported 20 new players ahead of the 2026/27 season.

The transfer activity comes after Rayon Sports were cleared to register new players following the lifting of their FIFA transfer ban in July.

Among the reported arrivals are Junior Kameni, Akbar Muderi, Boris Gbenou, Issa Djiguiba, Charles Tchouplaou, Ibrahim Djingarey, Dande Junior and Muhoza Daniel, alongside a long list of other new faces.

The scale of the recruitment has attracted significant attention among Rwandan football supporters, with Rayon Sports appearing determined to build a completely different squad for the new campaign.

Several of the transfers have also been independently reported, including the arrival of Malian attacking midfielder Issa Djiguiba from AS Real Bamako. (Transfer databases also list multiple new arrivals at Rayon Sports for the 2026/27 season.

With 20 players reportedly added, the big question now is whether this massive recruitment drive will translate into trophies and stronger performances on the domestic and continental stage.

One thing is certain: Rayon Sports have made the 2026 summer transfer window one to remember.
