Amavubi Coach Stephen Constantine Warns Players Against Complacency After 4-0 Win Over Grenada

The Head Coach of Rwanda’s national football team, ‘Amavubi’, Stephen Constantine, congratulated his players after thrashing Grenada 4-0 in a FIFA Series 2026 match. However, he gave them a stern warning not to become complacent, stating that their hard work would go to waste if they lost the next match.

The coach delivered these strong words to the players in the dressing room after the match, which took place at the Amahoro Stadium on Friday night, March 27, 2026.

He thanked his boys for the commitment they showed despite not having been together for long, but he also honestly pointed out that they defeated a team that was not well-prepared.

“I want to congratulate you all on your performance,” Constantine said. “You may not know me very well, but when I say something, I mean it; you played really well! We played against a team that was not well-prepared. Had they been prepared, we would have seen something different, though we still would have beaten them.”

Constantine went on to tell the players that this match marked a great beginning for a new era for Amavubi, and therefore, they must build a culture of being unbeatable.

He asked them to keep their feet on the ground because the victory they secured would be devalued by a poor result in the next game.

“Know that this is the beginning of a new generation for Amavubi, which means we should not be defeated by anyone, starting with whoever we play in the next three days. It means nothing if we are going to lose in three days to whoever we play against.”

The Englishman reminded the players that the secret to winning relies solely on discipline and teamwork, which is what helped them thrash Grenada.

He asked them to always remember the joy of scoring four goals in an international match to guide them toward future victories.

“Remember that feeling, because if you lose, I will ask you how you feel. Without good discipline and without teamwork, you have no chance of winning. But today, you displayed both.”

In concluding his message, the coach told them that they must immediately forget what happened and focus on the final Group A match, where they will face Estonia on Monday, March 30, 2026..
