Al Hilal SC won the Rwanda Premier League title, with records

Al-Hilal SC won the 2025/26 Rwanda Premier League (BK Pro League) honorary title after defeating Gasogi United 2-1 on Matchday 33 at Kigali Pelé Stadium this Wednesday, May 13, 2026.
The Sudanese club played in Rwanda’s league as a guest team due to security challenges in their home country. They needed just one point to secure a top finish.
However, they chose to do it in style by winning the match, taking their tally to 73 points from 31 matches, 14 points ahead of second-placed APR FC, which still has three games left to play.
Al-Hilal opened the scoring in the 15th minute through Mamudu Karamadini and continued to dominate the game despite Gasogi United’s attempts to equalize.
Walieldin Daiyeen converted a penalty in the 67th minute, before Ngono Guy Hervé also scored from the penalty spot for Gasogi, but Al-Hilal held on to secure victory until the final whistle.
After the match, officials from the Rwanda Premier League, the Rwanda Football Federation, and the Sudanese Embassy in Rwanda attended the trophy presentation ceremony for Al-Hilal.
Although Al-Hilal finished top of the standings, because they participated as guest competitors, they are not officially eligible to win the Rwanda league title and were instead awarded an honorary trophy.
The official league trophy will be awarded to the highest-placed Rwandan club, with APR FC having the strongest chance of claiming it if they win or draw against Rutsiro FC on Sunday.
