APR FC vs Rayon Sports: Niyomugabo and Asman Send Strong Message Ahead of Peace Cup Final

With 48 hours left before the clash between Rwanda’s biggest rivals, APR FC and Rayon Sports, both teams have expressed confidence ahead of the 2026 Peace Cup final set for Saturday, May 23, 2026, at Amahoro Stadium.

APR FC captain Claude Niyomugabo said that a final is different because there is no second leg, meaning they must win the trophy at all costs.

“A final does not have a first leg and a return leg. The trophy must be won no matter what. That is the only thing on our minds.”

He also called on APR FC supporters to come in large numbers and back the team, promising they would do everything possible to make them happy.

“APR FC fans should come in big numbers to support us so that we can win that trophy.”

On the side of Rayon Sports, Asman Ndikumana told our report jean de la paix that they are fully prepared and understand how important the trophy is for the club.

“We are ready for the final. We know Rayon Sports needs this trophy, and we will do everything possible. Fans should come and support us.”

The two rivals last met in the Peace Cup final last year, when APR FC won the title after defeating Rayon Sports 2-0.

Asman Ndikumana said they will do everything possible, while Claude Niyomugabo insisted that a final has no second leg and therefore must be won.
