Rwandan football giants Rayon Sports have officially been hit with a FIFA transfer ban, adding to the club’s challenges ahead of the 2026/27 season

According to FIFA’s registration ban list, the Kigali-based club is currently prohibited from registering any new players for the next three consecutive transfer windows. This means Rayon Sports will be unable to sign and register new players for official competitions until the ban is lifted or the sanction expires.
The transfer ban comes at a crucial time as the club continues preparations for the new season, having been active in the transfer market in recent weeks. Unless the issue leading to the sanction is resolved, the restriction could significantly affect Rayon Sports’ squad-building plans.
FIFA transfer bans are typically imposed on clubs that fail to comply with financial or contractual obligations, such as unpaid debts or disputes related to player transfers. However, the specific reason behind Rayon Sports’ ban has not yet been officially confirmed by either FIFA or the club.
Supporters will now be awaiting an official statement from Rayon Sports regarding the circumstances of the ban and the steps being taken to have it lifted as soon as possible.
