APR FC Secure Crucial Win Over Mukura VS

APR FC secured a crucial three-point victory in Huye after defeating Mukura Victory Sports 3-0 in their Matchday 28 BK Pro League game held at Stade Kamena this Saturday.

This win helped the “Army side” reach 55 points, holding onto second place and continuing to close in on league leaders Al-Hilal SC (58 points), while also establishing an 11-point gap between them and Rayon Sports, whom they will face next Saturday.

Before the match began, those in attendance at Stade Kamena observed a minute of silence to remember the Tutsi killed in the 1994 Genocide.

APR FC started the game without some of their key defensive players, including Clement Niyigena, who is injured, and Yunussu Nshimiyimana, who accumulated three yellow cards.

In only the fourth minute, Djibril Ouattara was fouled in the penalty area, and referee Moise Murindangabo awarded a penalty. The striker took the penalty well, but the ball went wide of the goal.

Mukura VS tried to find a goal through players including Elie Tatou Iradukunda and Patrick Mutsinzi, but goalkeeper Adolphe Hakizimana continued to stand firm.

The goalkeeper was injured in the 35th minute following a collision with Patrick Mutsinzi, forcing him to be taken off the field to the hospital, where he was replaced by Yvan Ruhamyankiko.

The first half ended with both teams tied at 0-0, but in the second half, APR FC came out with fire, dominating the game significantly.

In the 50th minute, Hakim Kiwanuka delivered a beautiful cross that found a well-positioned Djibril Ouattara, who slotted it into the goal to score the opener.

Just six minutes later, Hakim Kiwanuka scored the second goal after good interplay with Jean Gilbert Byiringiro; the Mukura VS defense failed to clear it properly, and he smashed it home.

Alex Nduwayo scored the third goal in the 61st minute following a corner kick taken by Bosco Ruboneka. This allowed APR FC to be confident of victory, and they began making substitutions to rest players, including William Togui and Dauda Yussif.

Mukura VS tried to find a way to reduce the deficit, but APR FC’s defenders remained impenetrable, causing the game to end without them finding the net, leaving them with 41 points in seventh place.

The match was followed by 3,300 fans due to the small size of Stade Kamena. It was attended by various people, including Amavubi National Team coach Stephen Constantine and Rayon Sports players, who will face Amagaju FC this Sunday before playing APR FC ne
