Police FC have indefinitely suspended two players whose contracts are nearing expiration Byiringiro Lague and Ugandan player Allan Kateregga ,over misconduct

According to information obtained by ISIMBI, the decision to suspend striker Byiringiro Lague was made on Wednesday, May 6, after he failed to show up for training ahead of the match against Mukura VS, a game that ended in a 0-0 draw, and also did not feature in the match.

Reports indicate that the winger had been repeatedly warned by the Police FC management and asked to improve his behavior after being detained on several occasions, but failed to change.

The immediate trigger for his suspension came after Police FC’s 1-1 draw against Gorilla FC on May 1, 2026, a match in which he scored Police FC’s last-minute equalizer.

Players had reportedly been instructed to attend training the following morning (May 2), but Lague failed to appear. ISIMBI learned that the next day he claimed he was sick and unable to train, but after management investigated, they found this to be untrue, leading to his suspension.

As for Allan Kateregga, he was suspended for alleged insubordination.

ISIMBI reports that after Police FC’s goalless draw against Mukura VS in the Southern Province on May 6, 2026, all players were instructed to travel together on the team bus, but Kateregga refused and instead left in his own car.

The player, who had been substituted by Ingabire Christian Tia, had reportedly arranged for his personal driver to pick him up.

Another issue that angered Police FC management and contributed to the suspension decision was that after Tia, who had replaced him, suffered an injury and was taken to hospital, teammates went to check on him after the match ,but Kateregga was absent, having left for his own personal plans.

Currently, Police FC sit 6th on the league table with 46 points. They are one point behind SC Kiyovu, two points behind Rayon Sports, 10 points behind APR FC, 12 points behind Al Merrikh, and trail league leaders Al Hilal SC by 21 points.
