Uncertainty surrounds venue for the Peace Cup Final 2026 between APR FC and Rayon Sports as stadium costs become a major obstacle

So far, although FERWAFA wants the final of the Peace Cup Final 2026 between APR FC and Rayon Sports to be played at Amahoro Stadium, it has not yet been confirmed because they have not secured the stadium.

According to information obtained by ISIMBI, FERWAFA was shocked by the price set by QA Venue Solutions, the company responsible for managing the stadium, and found it unaffordable.

It is reported that QA Venue Solutions informed FERWAFA that if they want Amahoro Stadium to host the Peace Cup final on May 23, 2026, they must pay 60 million Rwandan francs.

FERWAFA says this amount is excessively high and does not understand why the cost has been set so expensively.

Not long ago, Rayon Sports hosted APR FC at the same stadium and was charged 20 million Rwandan francs. FERWAFA is therefore questioning why the price has now been tripled, especially since the same teams are set to play.

Negotiations are still ongoing between both sides. Reports indicate that FERWAFA is unwilling to exceed 40 million Rwandan francs, and if no agreement is reached, the match could be moved to Kigali Pelé Stadium.

There have often been complaints about the difficulties teams face when trying to use Amahoro Stadium, with accusations that QA Venue Solutions imposes excessively high fees.

Members of Parliament recently called on Rwanda’s Ministry of Sports to find a way for infrastructure such as Amahoro Stadium to be utilized effectively while remaining affordable for all users.
