Serious chaos erupts after Matchday 32 clash between Amagaju FC and Al Merrikh SC as police intervene

The Matchday 32 game between Amagaju FC and Al Merrikh SC ended in serious chaos, forcing the intervention of the Rwanda National Police.

The match was played yesterday, Sunday, May 17, 2026, at Stade Kamena, where Amagaju FC secured a 1-0 victory.

As seen in the footage, the game ended amid major disturbances after Al Merrikh SC expressed dissatisfaction with the officiating.

During the match, Al Merrikh’s coach was seen repeatedly exchanging heated words with Sghir Hammadi, the coach of Amagaju.

According to information obtained by ISIMBI, Sghir Hammadi previously coached Al Merrikh SC, but their relationship ended badly, with both sides reportedly taking legal action against each other.

This made the match particularly emotional for him, as he was highly determined to win, which further increased the tension and verbal confrontations with his counterpart, who was unhappy with the refereeing decisions.

The tensions did not end there. After the final whistle, the conflict spread to the players, who clashed fiercely, with some grabbing each other by the shirts.

However, the Rwanda National Police quickly intervened and managed to calm the situation before the confrontation escalated further at Stade Kamena.

After Matchday 32, Al Merrikh SC sits in 3rd place with 58 points, while Amagaju FC is in 14th place with 34 points.
