Rayon Sports One Win Away from CECAFA Kagame Cup Semi-Finals
Rayon Sports have made a perfect start to their 2026 CECAFA Kagame Cup campaign, collecting six points from their opening two Group C matches and strengthening their bid for a place in the semi-finals. The Rwandan giants have won both of their games, continuing an impressive run in front of their home supporters.
After opening the tournament with a convincing 2-0 victory over KVZ FC, Rayon followed it up with a hard-fought 1-0 win against Kenyan champions Tusker FC. The two victories leave the Blues with a 100 percent record and firmly in contention for qualification.
However, the biggest challenge still awaits. Rayon Sports will face Sudanese champions Al Hilal in their final Group C match on August 1 at Amahoro Stadium. Al Hilal have also won their opening two matches, setting up a blockbuster clash that is expected to determine the Group C winner.
With only the three group winners and the best second-placed team progressing to the semi-finals, the final group fixture carries huge significance. A victory would see Rayon Sports book their place in the last four as group winners, while even a draw could leave them in a strong position depending on the final standings.
