National Youth Basketball Player and Mother Pass Away in Car Accident

Kenrik Kabano, a player for the national youth basketball team, and his mother, Rosine Kabano, have passed away following a car accident in the United States.
The accident occurred in the state of Texas yesterday, Monday, April 20, 2026. The cause of the accident has not yet been determined.
His father, Mike Kabano, expressed his grief through his social media platforms, informing the public of the passing of his wife and firstborn son. He wrote:
“To my friends and family, Rosine (my wife) has been called by God along with our firstborn son, Kenrik. The light of my wife and my son will forever remain in our hearts. I ask for your prayers.”
Kenrik Kabano, who was 18 years old, was born in Ohio, USA, in 2008. In 2023, he played for the national U16 team during the 2023 FIBA Africa Under-16 championship. At the time of his passing, he was on the list of players being considered for selection to the U18 national team for the upcoming U18 Afrobasket qualifiers.
