For Matchday 28 of the league, the matches where APR FC and Rayon Sports are set to be hosted by Huye-based teams have both been scheduled to take place at Kamena Stadium this weekend.

Mukura VS is set to host APR FC on Saturday, April 25, while the following day, Amagaju FC will host Rayon Sports.
When the Rwanda Premier League released the season schedule in August and January, it was planned that both matches would take place at Huye Stadium. However, this former international stadium has not hosted a single match for 11 months after the pitch was removed for replacement, a process that has faced continuous difficulties since May 2025.
Regarding the changes made to these two matches, the Rwanda Premier League has confirmed that Mukura VS will host APR FC at Kamena Stadium on Saturday at 15:00. The same applies to Amagaju FC when they host Rayon Sports on Sunday.
Information reaching gospeltoday indicates that both teams from Huye wanted to host these matches in Kigali but struggled to secure Kigali Pelé Stadium. One source who spoke to gospeltoday stated, “Hosting in Muhanga also did not work out because there is no commercial viability there.”
League Standings and Strategic Decisions
- Mukura VS: Currently in 7th place with 41 points, trailing 4th-placed Rayon Sports by three points.
- Amagaju FC: Currently in 15th place with 27 points, five points ahead of Rutsiro FC, which sits just above last-placed AS Muhanga.
An insider told gospeltoday that the clubs chose to focus heavily on securing points and overlooked potential revenue, which would not have been very significant anyway due to the low fan turnout currently seen at APR FC and Rayon Sports matches, given the difficult periods both clubs are experiencing.
About Kamena Stadium

Kamena Stadium accommodates only hundreds of fans due to its small size and security constraints. It features a small, unique pitch that often proves challenging for teams that are not accustomed to playing there.
Historically, Mukura VS has had success at this ground, having defeated Al-Hilal SC 3-1 and Al-Merrikh SC 1-0 there, making it the only Rwandan team to have defeated both of these Sudanese clubs.
