“Rayon Sports through to Peace Cup final after defeating Gorilla FC.”

After a goalless draw (0-0) in the second leg against Gorilla FC, Rayon Sports has qualified for the Peace Cup final on the away goals rule following a 1-1 aggregate score.
It was the return leg of the Peace Cup semi-finals, with both teams entering the match tied 1-1 from the first leg. Rayon Sports, playing as the home team, held the advantage because they had secured an away goal in the previous encounter.
The game started at a high pace as both sides searched for an opening goal, though finishing remained a challenge. Rayon Sports reached Gorilla FC’s penalty area multiple times, but most of their attempts were intercepted by the defense. In the 23rd minute, Gorilla FC’s goalkeeper, Serge, made a brilliant save from a free kick struck by Richard Ndayishimiye, parrying it out for a corner that resulted in nothing. Gorilla FC also had their chances, notably in the 28th minute when Frank Nduwimana delivered a cross, but no one was there to finish it. Both teams went into the break at 0-0.
Efforts to break the deadlock continued in the second half, but neither side could find the back of the net, and the match ended in a stalemate.
Due to the 0-0 draw, Rayon Sports advanced thanks to the 1-1 aggregate score, benefiting from the away goal they scored in the first leg.
Rayon Sports will face either APR FC or Etincelles in the final, depending on who wins their match scheduled for tomorrow.
