Late Drama In Omdurman! Rayon Sports Snatch 1-1 Draw Against Al Hilal Ahead of Thousand Hills Derby

– Rayon Sports demonstrated remarkable fighting spirit after securing a dramatic 1-1 draw against Sudanese giants Al Hilal in Matchday 8 of the BK Pro League.

The Blues appeared destined for defeat until the 89th minute, when substitute Daniel Muhoza came off the bench to score a crucial equaliser and rescue a valuable point for the Rwandan side.

Al Hilal took the lead in the 34th minute through their star striker Mohamed Abdelrahman, who capitalised on a defensive mistake by Rayon Sports to put the hosts ahead.

Their persistence finally paid off in the 89th minute when Daniel Muhoza found the back of the net, silencing the home supporters and securing a dramatic point for the visitors.

BOTH RWANDAN GIANTS DRAW BEFORE THE THOUSAND HILLS DERBY

Interestingly, both of Rwanda’s biggest football clubs, Rayon Sports and APR FC, dropped points in their respective Matchday 8 fixtures ahead of the highly anticipated Thousand Hills Derby.

The two sides will therefore head into the derby after drawing their latest league matches, keeping the competition for the BK Pro League title wide open.

For Rayon Sports, the result in Omdurman could prove particularly important psychologically. Coming from behind to secure a point away against a strong Al Hilal side will give the Blues additional confidence as they prepare to face their biggest rivals.

However, the attention now shifts to the Thousand Hills Derby, a fixture that carries enormous pride, pressure and expectations for both sets of supporters.

With both teams eager to return to winning ways, the upcoming showdown promises to be another exciting chapter in one of Rwanda’s biggest football rivalries.
